Adrian Awasom Highlights

The Vikings signed defensive end Adrian Awasom to a two-year contract, 1500ESPN.com’s Tom Pelissaro reports.

Awasom played the past two seasons with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the UFL. The New York Giants signed him in 2005 as an undrafted free agent. He played primarily on special teams during his rookie season but played ten games as a defensive end the following seasons. Two days before the Giants were to appear in Super Bowl XLII, Awasom was arrested on DUI charges in Phoenix, Arizona. He was subsequently placed on Injured Reserve, and thus was not eligible to play with the Giants in the Super Bowl.

Awasom was released before the 2008 season.

Awasom played college at the University of North Texas, where he was named three time all-Sun Belt Conference honoree, including a 1st-team selection as a junior and senior.

He played tight end at Stafford High School in Stafford, Texas.

The 27 year-old Adrian Awasom stands 6’5″ and weights 280 lbs.
