Metrodome Roof Collapses
The roof to the Metrodome at Mall of America field has collapsed, forcing the NFL to see other venues for the matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants, including the Lions’ Ford Field and TCF Bank Stadium, where the Gophers play.
It probably wouldn’t be goo for the Vikings, but wouldn’t that be awesome to watch a home, outdoor Vikings game? The Giants, of course, would have to find solve the problem that they did not bring cold-weather gear with them.
The league wants the game to remain on Monday, so it appears the venue is the only thing in doubt.
I would give anything to have outside football back in MN. I have said the entire time that the Gophers and Vikings should share TCF stadium. This looks like the start of a beautiful relationship.
I think capacity would be an issue if the Vikes were to play at TCF Bank Stadium but I totally agree with you: Bring outdoor pro football back to Minnesota! 🙂
