Dalvin Cook continued his string of amazing performances by gaining 98 yards on 23 carries and scoring the Vikings only touchdown of the game against the Washington Redskins.
We’ve become accustomed to seeing Cook routinely rip off runs of five and nine yards, breaking a handful of tackles on a single play, and bouncing it out to the perimeter to find yards where there are none up the middle.
But it was his receptions that generated the most excitement Thursday night.
It was a screen pass for 15 yards.
And another screen pass for 18 yards on second and twenty.
And then there was this beauty for 31 yards.
Cook added five receptions for 73 yards to his rushing yards, giving him 171 yards from scrimmage on 28 touches and one score.
And it’s about to get a lot more exciting for Cook. The Vikings have faced the toughest run defenses in the NFL thus far but in the second half of the season, rushing should get a lot easier. If you can believe it.
